Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering other is strength; mastering yourself is true power. —Laozi
I am currently in third year, Mathematics and Business Administration. I had originally enrolled in CS but I had realized that I cannot code my day away like all the other CS kids (aka Niall). This is my first active term in Sigma Chi, and it is a unbelievable experience, the brotherhood and the volunteer work that our chapter does is what appeals to me the most.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. —Abraham Lincoln
I'm currently in my fourth year in accounting and finance. I like to stay active and travel in my spare time. If you see me around anywhere, feel free to say hi, I don't bite (unless you happen to be my food).

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world. —Brother Jack Layton
When he joined the fraternity in the summer of 2010 he had no idea what a whirlwind experience it would be. Within a year from my initiation, I was attending Grand Chapter in Dallas Texas, and was able to bring the newly crowned International Sweetheart to our humbled chapter. As a frequent contributor to mathNEWS, past Engineering Orientation leader, he is the typical Software Engineering student. Currently on the beautiful west coast for his last Co-op term, Trevor will return in the Winter of 2012 to finish his degree. He can be easily recognized by the click of his cowboy boots walking down halls on Campus.

Happiness consists in getting enough sleep. —Robert Heinlein
Student of mathematics and fine wine. Graduating in December 2011 with double honours in CS & CO, then moving on to a job at National Instruments in Austin, Texas with my lovely fiance in the following February. A lot of rush ask me why they should be interested in Sigma Chi; there is no simple answer to this question. School teaches you what you want to learn, and Sigma Chi shows you who you want to be. My personal priorities dictate that who you are is at least as important as what you know, and spending some time reflecting on and improving yourself is similarly as important as spending time on academic studies (as long as you do not neglect your studies).

As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death. —Leonardo da Vinci
Well lads, I just can't get enough of Arsenal FC and Pink Floyd. If ye like either of them, we'll get along quite well. I'm in Earth Science and hope to be near volcanoes after I graduate but I would settle for glaciers no doubt about it. I'm Recruitment Chairman at Theta Psi this term and can't wait to meet all of you chaps keen on learning more about us. I only got initiated into Sigma Chi this past summer but I've had a smashing time and reckon ye could as well!

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. —Mother Teresa
Originally a typical Nanotechnology Engineering student; now mistakenly known as the chapter hipster. Currently involved with Food Not Bombs of WPIRG and Safety Officer of the UW Rocketry Team. Prefers Coke to Pepsi, and Kobo to Kindle. Been on a sobriety streak since January 1st, 2011, though not without incidents and accidents (alcoholic chocolate whipped cream).

Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. —Chinese Proverb
I am someone that constantly thirsts for knowledge, a creature that is always looking to improve his tools, a fool that is constantly building up experience for a grand chance that may never come. I love a good challenge. Joining a fraternity was challenge, I've taken it and struggled with it. The results is always worth it.

I'm in 4B Civil Engineering and you can usually find me biking or running around town. Since joining Sigma Chi, I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet and form friendships with a group of talented and diverse people. Sure, you could do this by joining other clubs on campus and of course this is highly recommended as well. However, Sigma Chi takes this to a whole other level that is unmatched by what you'll find in your typical campus club. Come to our recruitment events to find out why!

Wait 'till I get my money right; then you can't tell me nothin' right? —Kanye West
If there were ever a devilishly handsome Sigma Chi, his name would be Tony Bui. Just look at him. Acting as Social Chair for the term, he is responsible for organizing events and mixers for the Chapter. Throughout his time in Sigma Chi, he has undergone series upon series of change and self-improvement/reflection. Always striving to achieve the high ideals to which the Fraternity holds him to, he values and cherishes every moment he spends as a Sigma Chi.

I hold both my private and glider pilots licences, enjoy canoeing, rock climbing, squash and good music. Currently in my 4th year of geology and hope to find gold for a living. Joining Sigma Chi is the best decision you can make during your undergraduate career.

Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none. —William Shakespeare
As a 3rd year Electrical Engineering student at Waterloo, I can honestly say that grander men I have not found than those at our Theta Psi chapter of Sigma Chi. Men who strive for excellence in every endeavor. Men who strive for enlightenment in daily life. Men who strive to endow the world with the best they have to offer. I have no doubt that they will change the world, for they have already changed mine.

Do not follow where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. —Ralph Waldo Emerson
I recently graduated from Computer Science and will soon be starting work in New York. As an undergraduate, I travelled to Europe and the Middle East on exchange, started several clubs (including the UW chapter of Students Offering Support), and was active in student government.
But Sigma Chi was always the most fun, and the most rewarding. I was both Magister and Recruitment Chair, and I am now looking forward to spoiling the chapter as an alumnus.

I once went the the deli and ordered a chicken sandwich, but I don't think the waitress understood me, because she asked me how I would like my eggs. I answered the only way I could. I said, "Incubated." —Mitch Hedberg
I am a mover of worlds.
I stand by my brothers and my friends in their time of need, and by so doing I enact positive change. Though my work as a programmer I can put an entire universe into motion with a few keystrokes. I try to be kind and generous to all those around, which draws them to me and me to them.
So yes, friends, I am a mover of worlds. And you can be too. Big change can happen for the smallest reasons, and by keeping an open mind and an open heart you can build strong relationships and have a real effect on the world around you. Sigma Chi, if you are worthy, is a strong step toward making your world and that of those around you better. Sigma Chi doesn't change who you are, but it amplifies those characteristics that make people good and decent, and provides a forum for intellectual discussion and moral support. Here you will find something stronger than friendship, and a fulfillment I cannot describe.
So this is who I am: a mover of worlds.
I am Sigma Chi.

If you want to know why I'm awesome, hang out with me a few times! If you want to know why the fraternity is awesome, ask the brothers each of their stories. Each one is a little different, but each one is a story of growth and brotherly love (even some bromance now and then).

The dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. —Vince Lombardi
As a first year Computer Engineering student, I represent the spirit of youth here. I joined Sigma Chi just one term ago and it has been nothing short of amazing. The strong sense of brotherhood is a marvel on its own. In only a term, I have already gotten so much out of it and I look forward to spending the next 4 and a half years here. But Sigma Chi isn't the only thing I love! In my spare time, I love playing/watching sports, learning about anything tech related, hitting the gym for a workout and catching up on my favourite TV shows.

A good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover.
I am in my third year at UW studying Environmental Management. I am very active and an adrenaline junkie so I'll do pretty much almost anything. I enjoy playing dodgeball, volleyball, rugby, and ultimate. On my spare time I rock climb, exercise and shoot pool. The one activity I enjoy the most is riding.

I enjoy most things in life, writing, sports, fine dining. My most attractive feature is my smile, obviously. I'm currently philanthropy chair in Sigma Chi and I have a ton of great events in mind for this term. I'm also assistant magisting this term and I'm very excited for the new pledge class!

I'm a third year Arts and Business Co-op student, majoring in English Rhetoric and Professional Writing with a minor in Economics. I love Fashion, Music, Commerce, and am probably the biggest Britney Spears fan you will ever meet. Sigma Chi has been THE most rewarding experience of my undergraduate career thus far, and it has given me the opportunity to build strong leadership skills, get involved, party hard, and build amazing life long friendships.

I enjoy many things in life: golfing, fine dining, and the occasional grizzly bear fight. I don't always rush fraternities, but when I do, I rush Sigma Chi.

You're as big as you'll get, but you're still growing.
I'm a fourth year math student, aspiring to become a high school teacher. I joined Sigma Chi because I wanted to be part of a group with a strong sense of brotherhood. I have gained so much out of my three active terms, that I cannot begin to think of my time as an undergrad without Sigma Chi. I have served the chapter by helping out with the pledging process and organizing recruitment. In my spare time, I like to play/watch sports, attend concerts, and drink chocolate milk.

I'm a fourth year Accounting and Finance student. My favourite hobbies are strength training, volleyball, and soccer. I first joined Sigma Chi to meet new people but found it to be much more than that. I genuinely believe that joining Sigma Chi was one of the best decisions I've made in my time at university.
